Seattle-based fashion illustrator Roya Ansari, known as @roya_so_artsy on Instagram, started painting portraits in July of 2015. The Seattle artist has a hard-earned psychology degree from the University of Washington. Roya is well known for her colorful portraits and shows through her work an effortless, colorful and modern translation of women in the fashion world. Her signature giant eyes can be easily recognized, and truly expresses Roya’s firm belief that the eyes are a window to the soul.

Roya’s work has been recognized by David Yurman, Brian Atwood, Josie Maran, Nordstrom, the Cobra Snake, Wildfox Couture, Frank Body, Jolie Gazzette, Into the Gloss, Vanity & Trade, Lani Hair, PINROSE, Stylabl, RAW Natural Born Artists, etc. She has also partnered up with multiple brands in the fashion/beauty industry in undertaking creative projects and painting a fantasy to life on paper.

Roya’s uses a diverse array of mediums when creating.  Acrylic paint, chalk/oil pastels, golden high flow acrylic ink, thin paintbrushes, gelly roll pens, pressed flowers, magazine clippings and lipsticks are just a few to name.
